Terms of Service
Last updated: September 2, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of GazetteGo, a local community platform for Manchester, Missouri. By creating an account or using GazetteGo, you agree to these Terms.
Eligibility & accounts
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to use GazetteGo. You are responsible for activity under your account. We sign you in with an emailed magic link; keep your email account secure.
Your content and the license you grant us
You keep ownership of the content you post (listings, events, posts, notices, concerns, photos, and so on). To run the service, you grant GazetteGo a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute that content within the GazetteGo service for the purpose of operating, improving, and promoting it. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies retained for backups or as required by law, and except for content others have already interacted with.
You are responsible for what you post. You represent that you have the rights to post it and that it does not violate the law or these Terms.
Acceptable use
You agree not to post or do anything that is:
- illegal, fraudulent, harassing, hateful, or threatening;
- infringing on someone else’s intellectual property or privacy;
- spam, a scam, or a deceptive listing;
- an attempt to access others’ accounts or data, or to disrupt the service.
We may remove content and suspend or ban accounts that violate these Terms, at our discretion.
Marketplace & payments
GazetteGo is a venue that lets residents connect and transact. Except where expressly stated, we are not a party to transactions between residents, and we do not guarantee any item, price, event, or user. Deals are between the buyer and seller.
Payments are processed by Stripe. If you receive money through GazetteGo, you also agree to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement. Refunds and disputes are handled as described in the app. [Review with counsel] marketplace, fee, refund, and dispute terms should be finalized with a lawyer familiar with Stripe Connect.
Disclaimers
GazetteGo is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content posted by users is accurate or safe. [Review with counsel]
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GazetteGo and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for disputes between residents. [Review with counsel] the liability cap and carve-outs should be set by a lawyer.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify GazetteGo for claims arising from your content or your misuse of the service. [Review with counsel]
Dispute resolution & arbitration
[Review with counsel — do not rely on this section as written] We intend to include a binding arbitration provision and a class-action waiver, governed by Missouri law. The enforceability of arbitration and class-waiver clauses is highly jurisdiction-specific and must be drafted by a lawyer before launch. This placeholder is a note of intent, not an enforceable clause.
Changes & termination
We may update these Terms; we’ll revise the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, notify you. You may stop using GazetteGo at any time, and we may suspend or end access for violations.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
